No doubt a Bill will be introduced tQ extend the period of operation of the Act; Apart from this, there is the "possibility of. some alteration to the provisions of the existing legislation. This has been mentioned by the Attor-ney-General (bMr. Mason). bMr. Mason has' intimated that the • question of amending the Act is under consideration. He said that when the Act was first designed new buildings * were exempted so that there might - not be interference with, building. The difficulty of building new dwellings during the war was one among the circumstances that had since arisen which called for a new approach to the problem and it was being reconsidered accordingly.
