THE POLICE FORCE
Regulations issued last night provide that no member of the Police Force will be allowed to resign without the consent of the Minister in Charge of Police. The Minister may in his absolute discretion elect either to grant or to refuse his consent to an application, and if he consents he may impose such conditions as to date of discharge or otherwise as he thinks fit. Previously it was an offence to resign from the Force without the Minister's permission, but if a man was prepared to accept the penalty he could still sever his connection with the - Force. Now he will ibe unable to do - this.
