WAR WORK AND PENSIONS

(To the Editor.) Sir. —The- Government repeatedly appeals to women to do war work. My husband is a war pensioner. Our total income is £2 10s per week, and with the present high cost of living it is impossible to live in human decency on such a sum. If I were to take on war work, -would the Government cancel or reduce this war pension, thus compelling my husband, who is an invalid, to live on my earnings? I am, etc., "BREAD LINE." „ [If the husband is receiving a disability pension, that would not be affected by additional earnings, but if an economic pension is being paid that would be affected. Further inquiries should be made from the war pensions section of the Social Security Department.]
