ST. NAZAIRE RAID

PHOTOS OF BOMBED AREA

RUGBY, April 12. A film purporting to show the recent British combined raid on St. Nazaire is being shown in Berlin. It is significant, however, that the picture of the lock gates after the raid is not included in the film. Preliminary R.A.F. photographs, however, have confirmed that one of the gates is missing, but are not clear enough to indicate what has become of it. The latest photograph, published in' today's Press, makes it clear not only that the gate was duly rammed but that the explosion on H.M.S. Can.pbeltown blew it clear off its sill, flung it against the west side of the lock, and buckled it badly.—B.O.W.
