Holland-Martin, have left Wellington to pay their first official visits to Feilding, Stratford, and HaweraTheir Excellencies will return to Wellington on Friday evening next. Mr. J. S. Barton is visiting Auck- ' land. Mr. W. E. Ailderson, secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association, arrived in Wellington by the Limited express today. Mr. J. W. Heenan, Undersecretary of the Department of Internal Affairs, and Mr. F. B. Stephens, of the department, are in Auckland. Mr. J. B. G. Bradley, Registrar of the Rangoon Pligh Court, is in New Zealand on sick leave. He is accompanied py Mrs. Bradley. The retirement of Mr. J. Wyn Irwin. an inspector of the Canterbury Education Board district, after service in the cause of education extending from 1891, was announced at a meeting of the Canterbury Education Board. Mr. J. C. H. Somerville, president of the Dunedin Manufacturers' Asso-| ciation, has returned to Dunedin from Wellington after attending the conference of the Master Printers' Association. Mr. H. I. H. Sutherland, of Wellington, has been elected '.president of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club, the vice-presidents being Messrs. W. H. Shepherd (Dunedin) and W. L. Wiseman (Auckland). '■ | ! Mr, R. B. Tennent, director of primary production, is on a visit to the South Island. Mr. L. J. Schmitt, general manager of the Tourist and Publicity Department, left Wellington yesterday for the South Island. Dr. W. A. Riddell, High Commissioner for Canada in New Zealand, was a passenger from Wellington yesterday for the South Island. ~ The Very Rev. Father James Long, Administrator of St. Patrick's Parish, Greymouth, has been appointed to the office of Vicar-General to the Rt. Rev. Dr. M. J. Brodie, Bishop of Christchurch. Father Long, who, has been at Greymouth for the last 20 years, will remain at Greymouth, except on occasions, when in the absence of the Bishop his presence in Christchurch may be required. The office of VicarGeneral in the diocese of Christchurch had been vacant for some time.
The Rev. Father P. A. Joyce, of Ross, has been transferred to the office of Administrator of the Catholic Cathedral at Christchurch. He will be replaced at Ross by the Rev.. Father Maguire.'of Christchurch, and formerly of Greymouth. The transfers will take rjlace at the end of this week.
