PRISONERS SENTENCED

Two prisoners who had pleaded guilty in the' Lower Court were sentenced by Mr. Justice Ostler this morning.

■ George Rupert William Scott, for whom Mr. E. Ongley appeared, was admitted to probation for two years on charges of indecent assault and indecent exposure, conditionally that for the first year he resides with his father and mother. His Honour said that he regarded the case as a psychological one, and, although he had some doubts, was prepared to take the risk of granting probation.

"I look on yours as a very bad case," said his Honour to Thomas Alfred George Williams when sentencing him to two years' hard labour for unlawful carnal knowledge.
