GORSE FIRE DANGER
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—?: am one of the many hilldwellers who are surrounded by gorse. Should an enemy choose to drop incendiary bombs, the gorse would be a danger to hundreds of houses and to women and children whose husbands and fathers might be away fighting city fires. I would suggest that good use could be made of defaulters, in which they could play the role of saving lives instead of taking them, by clearing the gorse and making it safer for the women and children. —I' am, etc MORNINGTON.
