A FINE RECORD

W.W.S.A. CANTEEN SECTION

AT WORK

Every weekend for the last/eighteen months members of the Women's War Service Auxiliary canteen section have given valuable service at the V.M.C.A. In the following letter Mr. J. C. White, general secretary of the V.M.C.A., expresses to the auxiliary the general appreciation of the work done by this particular group. "The work involved is arduous and there is very little glamour or attraction about it," the letter states. "The workers concerned, however, under the' leadership of Mrs. M. J. Beniiey, are regular in their attendance, and cheerful and efficient in their work, which involves making more than 100 beds, stripping these' again, on the following day, preparing and serving Sunday breakfasts, serving morning tea on Sundays, staffing the cloakroom during the greater part of each weekend, and arranging a social gathering every second Saturday night.

"Many expressions of appreciation have been made by the soldiers and airmen who benefit as a result of this voluntary service, and we would like your executive to know that the high standard of performance of these duties which was established is being well maintained."
