GIRLS OF THE W.W.S.A.

WORK AT FORCES CLUB

BIGGEST BUSINESS IN CAIRO

"The presence of our New Zealand girls is greatly appreciated," states Lieutenant-Colonel F. Waite, reporting to the National Patriotic Fund Board on the activities Of the New Zealand Forces Club in Cairo and on the service being given there by the girls of the Women's War Service Auxiliary sent from-.New Zealand.

Colonel Waite says that the club does easily the biggest business in Cairo in catering for the soldiers. Every en-

deavour is being made to give more and more services free or at a low rate. The opening of a postal department has been greatly appreciated, especially for the dispatch of cables.

"The club has been filled to overflowing all the month (December)," Colonel. Waite adds. "Men coming down from the desert have been given first preference in the hostel. Almost every night 30 or 40 men arrive about midnight or after."

The report also refers to the valuable service at the club which a panel of voluntary helpers organised by Lady Freyberg continues to give. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, when the members of the W.W.S.A. have their weekly half-day, these helpers take over for them.
