CHURCH IN BAVARIA

ANTI-NAZI INDIGNATION

(Rec. 9 a.m.)

LONDON, Jan. 1

■ The "Daily Telegraph" says that a copy of a pastoral letter which was read in every Roman Catholic puipit in Bavaria about a month before Christmas has reached Roman Catholic authorities in London.

"A wave of deepest indignation," it gays, "is sweeping Bavaria. The cross is being removed from all schools, and scenes have occurred reminiscent of the days of the primitive Church. Facts are deliberately distorted. We have always been at pains to keep peace at home, and have borne many things with'great .patience, but were we to keep silent any longer we should be neglecting our most sacred duties to God and'the-Church, and the faithful would be unable to understand our attitude." •
