CHARGE OF MURDER

MOA FLAT TRAGEDY

HUSBAND BEFORE COURT

(P.A.)

DUNEDIN, This Day.

Arrested last evening after his discharge from hospital, where he had received treatment for a throat wound, Charles Henry Flaxman (34), farm hand, Moa Flat, was this morning charged with the murder of his wife, Marion Beatrice Flaxman (25). A remand until December 17 was granted.

Mrs. Flaxman's body, badly battered about the head, was recovered from a cottage on Wilden Road, near Edievale, when the house was completely destroyed by fire early on the morning of November 17.

After the discovery of the tragedy Flaxman was found with a wound in the throat, and was removed to the Tapanui Hospital. He was transferred later to Dunedin Hospital.
