DEATH OF A GUEST

TIMARU, November 23,

Clifford Dixon, aged about 40, clerk, who is believed to have lived in Masterton, was found dead on Saturday by his host, William John Greathead.

Evidence at the inquest showed that Dixon arrived from Ashburton on Friday and visited Greathead,. whom he had not seen- for many years. The pair went to town and had drinks. As Dixon appeared drunk, Greathead procured blankets and a pillow and made Dixon comfortable on a verandah. In the eai-ly morning Greathead was unable to rouse Dixon, and found he was dead. The Coroner ordered a postmortem examination.
