The total for the ten months of this year is £2,427,647, compared with £2,758,153 for the corresponding period of 1940, a decrease of E 330,506. War Tax under its four separate heads totalled £131,796, against £131,913 in October, 1940, a decrease of £117. For the ten months the totals are £1,255,395 and £606,174 respectively,' an increase of £649,221. ,

Collections of sales tax in October amounted to £98,977, as against £97,827 in October, 1940, an increase of £1150. For the ten months the totals are £945,279 and £1,014,707 respectively, a decrease of £69,428. Beer excise collection's last month totalled £8088, compared with £8799 in October, 1940, a decrease of £711. For;the ten months the totals are £84,740 arid £84,990 respectively, a decrease of £250.
