OBITUARY
MRS. NORAH PENDER.

The esteem and affection in which she was held by her relatives and friends, and the appreciation of her charitable life, was shown by the large congregation at the Requiem Mass at St. Joseph's Church, which was offered up by the Rev. Monsignor Mcßae, who later officiated at the graveside.
Mrs. Pender, who was the widow of Mr. Arthur Pender, a New Zealand representative footballer and son of the late Police Inspector Pender, of Wellington, is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Christopher Mcßae, Christchurch, and Mrs. John Griffiths, Greymouth, a brother, Mr. James McParland, and a sister, Mrs. K. Dwyer, both of Wellington, and by twelve grandchildren.
