PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Petone Borough Council met last evening. Permission to show Christmas pictures was granted to two Petone theatres. Permission was also granted to a local resident to hold a Sunday concert for the raising of funds to purchase Christmas comforts for old people in public institutions. Councillor H. Green voted against the Sunday concert. It was decided that the area generally known as Percy's Gardens should in future be known as the Percy Scenic Reserve.

The Deputy Mayor, Mr. A. M. Macfarlane, and the Town Clerk, Mr. H. Firth, were appointed delegates to the municipal conference. The Petone Rowing Club was granted a renewal of its lease.
