OTAKI HEALTH CAMP

NEW WINGS TO BE OPENED TOMORROW

Building additions costing £16,000 will be opened at the Children's Health Camp at Otaki tomorrow by the Minister of Health (Mr. Nordmeyer). The ceremony, which has been arranged by the Wellington executive of the New Zealand Federation of Health Camps, will'take place at 2.45 p.m., and trains leaving Wellington at 8.30 a.m., 10.15 a.m., and 12.18 p.m. will arrive at Otaki in time for the ceremony. ' A special post office is to be opened at the health camp, and souvenir covers and health stamps will be'^ on sale to commemorate the occasion.'''

The band of the Wellington Regiment will play at the camp during the afternoon.

The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. Hislop), who is president of the Wellington Children's Health Camp Association, will preside, and after the Minister the speakers will be Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P. for the district, the Mayor of Otaki (Mr. C. F. Atmore), and Dr. H. E. Gibbs, chairman of the association.

The new additions include a separate school in the form of three large and airy classrooms, which in fine weather can be converted into open-air classrooms. In front of this wing an area has been laid out in green concrete to form an assembly ground and a place for games. In this wing also are up-to-date shower baths and a plunge. The other new wing houses a spacious din-ing-room and kitchen, and the whole has been done out in a cheerful, attractive colour scheme.
