COWARD FINED £200

(Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 30. Noel Coward pleaded not guilty to the charge of failing to make a return of foreign-owned securities to the Bank of' England, but was fined £200 and £20 costs.

Counselsaid there was no element of fraud, or intent-"to evade the regulations. Coward was an unpractical man and unbusinesslike.- •

The publisher-- Jonathan Cape was fined £1050,: jvith 4P. guineas costs, for failing to offer' American securities valued at £525 to ihe-Treasury.
