AWARDS TO THREE NEW

ZEALANDERS

(Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, October 7. Three New Zealanders serving in the R.A.F., Squadron Leader Marcus Robinson, Flight Lieutenant Russell Merriman Mackenzie, and Flight Lieutenant Richard George Maddox, have been awarded the Air Force Cross for distinguished service. Acting Flight Lieutenant Colin Falkland Gray has been awarded a bar to his D.F.C. The citation states that Gray destroyed a further eight enemy planes, making his total victories 17. In addition he has probably destroyedl, a further nine enemy planes. Gray has always shown the j, greatest enthusiasm and has been of great assistance to his squadron commander.
