CHANGE PENDING?

COMMERCIAL BROADCASTING

SERVICE

"Perhaps the Minister will tell us if there is any truth in the current rumour of a change in the Controller of Commercial Broadcasting?'" said Mr. F. W. Doidge (National, Tauranga) during the discussion on the Supplementary Estimates in the House of Representatives last night.

"If we are to be in the throes of a General Election next week we would like to know," added Mr. Doidge, who was pulled up with "Order, Order" from the Chairman of Committees (Mr. R. McKeen).

Later Mr. H. S. S. Kyle (National, Riccarton) also referred to the subject, stating that rumours were going round. Was the Controller of Broadcasting still operating? He came over the air on Sunday night, but some said it was only a record, added Mr. Kyle.

There was no reply from the Gov eminent side. -
