APPEAL UPHELD
(P.A.) WANGANUI, October 7. An appeal by Mr. R. J. Harper, owner of Imperium, against the action of the judicial committee of the Marton Jockey Club in placing Caroline Bay dead heat for first in the Farewell Hack Handicap at the Spring Meeting on September 20 was today upheld by the Wanganui District Committee. Salvation dead-heated for first with Imperium and*Caroline Bay finished third, but the connections of the latter entered a protest against Salvation for interference. The protest was upheld and Caroline Bay was placed in the dead-Heating position, Salvation being relegated to third. Mr. I Harper's .appeal was against this decision, under Rule 285.
