Sabotage And Discontent
BIGGER NAZI GARRISON?
(Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, September 26. Sabotage and discontent are becoming apparent in Italy and the Germans are talking of sending more troops there in order to "help" their, Fascist partner.
In Greece there is fierce resistance all over the country against the Axis army of occupation, whose troops are known to be poorly armed and to have poor morale.
The newspaper "Frankfurter Zeitung" hints that more German troops may be moved into Italy.
It says: "Italy's position today is Germany's business..Our troops must give Italy all necessary support, as England is probably preparing to strike at Italy in the near future.' Italy is preparing for a long war."
The Duke of Aosta, former Italian Governor and Commander-in-Chief in Ethiopia, has been released on parole and is now in Rome, states a French report quoted by the "Daily Express." The report of his release follows persistent suggestions that a powerful section of the Fascist Party is trying to break with Germany and make a separate peace with England.
The "Daily Express" links with this report about the Duke a Swiss message that Italian secret police murdered Dr. O. Sebastian!, former personal secretary to Mussolini.
The official account of Dr. Sebastian."s death stated that he was killed in a plane crash.
