MASTERTON, This Day

The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady NTewall paid their first official visit" to" Masterton today' They were received by the Mayor and entertained at a civic luncheon after being present at a large gathering of children in the park. They were accorded a civic reception in the afternoon and were due to leave about 5 o'clock for Wellington.

Mr. T. Riley, waterside worker, 401 High Street, Lower Hutt, received concussion and an injury to his right ankle when he slipped from a truck at the Pipitea Wharf at 6.30 p.m. iyesterday.
