STABILISATION ISSUE
COMMITTEE APPOINTED
ADVISORY BODY
One of the most important matters arising out of the Economic Stabilisation Conference was the . ' necessity for continuous investigation and study by competent persons to advise the Government on matters concerning stabilisation of prices and incomes, the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) stated today. The Government was pleased to be able to announce that the following had, accepted appointment as members of an Economic Stabilisation Committee, which will commence to operate immediately:— Mr. F. D. Gornwell. Mr. A. T. Donnelly. Mr. R. Eddy. Mr. A. McLagan. Mr. W. Marshall. Mr. C. V. Smith. Of these gentlemen, Mr. A. T. Donnelly was the acting chairman of the Economic Stabilisation Conference last year and is chairman of the Bank of New Zealand. Mr. C. V. Smith is president of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Association, and Mr. W. Marshall is a member of the Dairy Industry Council, while Messrs. A. McLagan, R. Eddy, and F. D. Cornwell are members of the New Zealand Federation i of Labour. In addition to the members mentioned above, tjie Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash) and the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr. Sullivan) will be representatives of the Government on the committee.
