WILLIAM CABLE AND CO. DIVIDENDS

At a meeting of directors of William Cable and Co., Ltd., Wellington, yesterday it was resolved that the dividend on preference shares for the half-year ended September 30, 1941, at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum, and an interim dividend at the rate of ZVz per cent, be paid on ordinary shares'on October 25 to all shareholders whose names appear on the register at 5 p.m. on September 30,«.1941. It was further resolv.ee! that no deduction be made from dividends for social and national security* taxation, but if was not to be deemed a precedent. It was further resolved that' the nondeduction of this taxation from dividends by the company was to apply to this distribution and was without committal for future dividend payments.
