The King has appointed Mr. Winston Churchill to be Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports in place of the late Lord Willingdbn. Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports is an honorary and historic office dating from the time when the five <vorts on the south-east coast were of great importance to British defence. — 8.0. W.
