NEW SYRIAN GOVERNMENT

LONDON, Sept. 18.

In an interview in Damascus today, the new Syrian President, Sheik Mohammed Tageddine el Hassani, said that the Syrian Government will immediately exercise its sovereignty. The Cabinet will include Ministers of Foreign Affairs and National Defence. The Allies will acknowledge Syria's independence immediately, even before the conclusion of the treaty.

Hassan Bey Hakin has been appointed Prime Minister.
