HARRIERS

Scottish Club.— The Tanadees Cup was run by the club from Lyall Bay over 5 miles of the provincial course. The going was heavy but excellent times were registered, C. Bruce completing the course in 31min 34sec, with R. Ballantyne. only a few seconds behind. From a generous handicap P. Austin made no race of the event and finished a clear winner by over 200 yards. His nearest opponent, J. Okeby, also finished well clear of the remaining competitors, but third position was always in doubt and over the final mile L. Gerrie, A. Jones, A. Hudson, D. Henderson, and A. L. Stevens were within striking distance. Gerrie and Jones drew away, the former gaining third position by a small margin.
