Catholic Services Club. The Catholic Services Club was a popular rendezvous for ]the servicemen who were in Wellington for the weekend. The orchestra which provided the music for Saturday's dance included Mr. F. Maloney, formerly of Napier (pianist), Miss P. Kelly, and Mr. R. Smith. L.A.C. Albert Matthews was M.C. and among the visitors was Corporal Charles Cathcart, who entertained with many variety items. The hostess, Mrs. Cameron, was assisted by the members of the ladies' auxiliaries of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Karori Plunket Mothers' Club. A large number of members and friends of the Karori Plunket Mothers' Club met recently, in the Methodist Scholroom s and were entertained by the musical and play-reading circles. The president, Mrs. W. H. Nichols, was in the chair. The programme included items by the club choir and a.one-act play, "Tea Room," a, Nazi spy story, written and produced by Mrs. A. King. The singing of a Christchurch visitor, Miss Ruth Royds, was also enjoyed. Members of the musical circle who gave items were Mesdames C. Day, N. Gusscott, H. E. Perrett, F. H. Turner, R. A. Westbrook, and those of the drama circle were Mesdames kE. O. Chapman,' G. W. Matthewson, V. G. Rowe, H. J. White, and G. T. Wiggs.
