FORMATION COPIED
The Germans have copied the British composite columns consisting of infantry in lorries and highly mobile guns. The1 Italians have been allotted to the less arduous task of manning the prepared positions, but have not been entrusted with the difficult job of holding" the busy salient at the south-west corner of the Tobruk defences.
- The hopes of reducing Tobruk appear to be slight. Large fighter formations prevent the Axis planes from disrupting shipping, and the pilots bemoan the fact that so far they have not succeeded in bringing the raiding planes to a large-scale action. 1 Generally, the enemy seems to be concentrating entirely on defence and faces problems which are increasing daily.
