May Be a Prisoner
(Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 14. It is learned in London that information has been received which suggests that Wing Commander Bader, the legless pilot, who was recently reported missing, is safe and a prisoner. The information is believed to be reliable and confirmation is being sought. Wing Commander Bader was awarded a bar to his D.S.O. last July, and had then destroyed 15 enemy aircraft. The official German news agency has announced that Wing Commander Bader has been taken prisoner.—B.O.W. and U.P.A.

The Italians now outnumber the Germans in the frontier■: areas, and the combined Axis forces have' completed defensive positions in a great arc, stretching 35 miles from Halfaya Pass across the frontier to a- point southwest of Fort Capuzzo. The positions are mainly trenches and camouflaged anti-tank nests.
