ITALIAN REPORT
BRITISH SUBMARINE SUNK
(Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, August 4.
An Italian communique reports that an Italian torpedo-boat sank the British submarine Cachalot, which was rammed and cut in half. Ninety-one of the crew are said to have been saved.
The communique admits the loss of an Italian submarine operating in the Atlantic.
