VICTORIA EXTRAVAGANZA

The students of Victoria University College will give the first presentation of •'Cappicade, 1941," tomorrow night in the Opera House. The production will continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. "The "Sky's the Limit," a scathing but humorous satire on New Zealand politics, is the main feature, but the outstanding performance will probably be John Carrad's "Gone With the Wind Up." Mr. Carrad has been described as a genius for writing original and catchy songs but he has excelled himself this year with four really brilliant efforts. Paul Taylor, who has been a tower of strength in past years, will sing them. A neat little play called "The Horse that Wooden" has been written and produced by Miss Marie Best, and it is rather topical as the plot centres round a queen carnival. The shows are enhanced by some excellent tapdancing ballets and the usual male ballets which are now a university tradition.

Mr. T. Allen, of 106 Main Road, Trcntham, an elderly man, had his left leg broken when he was knocked over in a paddock at Trentham yesterday afternoon. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital.
