REQUEST TO MR. NASH

Summoning of House

(P.A.I

NAPIER, This Day

The following- telegram has been sent to the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash) by the Hon. \V. E. Barnard and Mr. J. A. Lee:—

"In view of the situation in the Near East, with the War Cabinet practically broken up and without returned soldier representation and with the Cabinet containing only one returned soldier, and in view also of our lack of full knowledge of New Zealand's commitments overseas and Empire policy, we urge that Parliament be summoned at once so that all the elected representatives of the people may have an opportunity of obtaining the information they ought to know and counselling upon and shaping the policy of the Dominion."

but it is plain that the expense of screening all office lighting would be very great indeed and it is hoped that the cumulative effect of the precautions now decided upon will be sufficiently effective in reducing sky glow. Correspondents have written to ''The Post" calling attention to particular buildings unusually brightly lit.
