Hausmann, president of the New Zealand Association of Bacon Curers, said that the annual meeting at Christchurch carried a resolution requesting the Minister of Marketing to announce immediately a lifting of the weight of porker killings after June 30 to 1201b for export. This was desirable, as porkers to this weight would be accepted by the United Kingdom to the extent of shipping space available and would greatly facilitate the conversion of pigs to baconer weights in the spring, when there was every indication of carcasses of baconer weights being in short supply for local consumption,
