TRANSIT OF ARMAMENTS

CHINA LIKELY TO BENEFIT

SETBACK TO JAPAN

(Rec. 10 a.m.) CHUNGKING, Ap. 30.

Referring to Russia's ban on the transhipment of war materials, Chinese officials pointed out that the materials China receives ir'om the Soviet originate in Russia, where consequently it is presumed that China will not be affected.

If this is so, the officials added, the ban will be beneficial to China in the sense that it will prevent German materials reaching Japan, which is especially important in view of recent reports that Germany was considering sending aircraft to Japan.—U.P.A.
