PARAMOUNT THEATRE

: % ' --*■ Tomorrow's Programme,

Comedy intermingled with romantic intrigue is the high light of Universal's "Hired Wife," which co-stars Rosalind Russell, Brian Aherne, and Virginia Bruce. Especially designed for the stars, this picture, which opens tomorrow at the Paramount Theatre, is crammed with unusual and unconventional situations. The story deals with a girl who marries her boss, with whom she is in love, merely to get him out of a business jam. And the comedy arises out of the situation she creates by trying to keep him from the girl he loves. Robert Benchley heads the large supporting cast. Claudette Colbert portrays "Zaza," one of the most daring and vivacious characters ever to dance her way across a music hall stage, or into a man's heart, in her latest picture, which bears the same name and will be the second attraction. Teamed with Herbert Marshall, her suave new leading man, Miss Colbert brings to vibrant life in this Paramount picture the beloved entertainer who braved the censure of the world for the sake of love and suffered a cruel tragedy which every woman will know how to understand. The supporting cast, hand-picked by Director George Cukor, the man who made "Dinner at Eight," "Little Women," "Romeo and Juliet." and "Camille," includes such favourites as Bert Lahr, Helen Westley, Walter Catlett, Genevieve Tobin, Constance Collier, and Rex O'Malley.
