LONDON, April 18,

A statement by Lord Halifax in Washington that Axis advances in North Africa have been stabilised by the Imperial troops is borne out by a report from Cairo that German advanced elements are showing no sign of trying to push further east and that around Tobruk and Sollum the initiative definitely lies with the Allied troops.
