BLACK-OUT SEVERITY

FEELING AT DUNEDIN

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

DUNEDIN, April 7.

The extent of the lighting restrictions in Dunedin was discussed by the City Council tonight, when the chairman of the electricity committee, replying to public criticism, pointed out that the black-out had nothing to do with the council but was carried out under instructions from the Dominion Lighting Controller.

Other councillors expressed the opinion that city lights might as well be turned out altogether and one speaker urged that an assurance should be obtained from the Government that the restrictions in their present form were necessary. Already it was stated there had been one claim for compensation for injuries in the black-out.
