EARTH'S EARNINGS
INJUNCTION GRANTED
APPLICATION BY MANAGER
SYDNEY, April 1
An injunction restraining Stadiums Proprietary, Limited, from paying to Carmen Barth any part of the proceeds of last night's fight with Maurice Strickland was today granted by Mr. Justice Roper in the Equity Court.
An application, which will be further heard tomorrow, was made by Mr. William Wilson, solicitor, on behalf of Gus Wilson, Los Angeles, described as Barth's manager, who alleges that Barth is about to return to America without accounting to him for 33 1-3 per cent, of the fight proceeds as agreed. Gus Wilson further claims that Barth had "by threats or otherwise" caused the Stadiums Proprietary to agree to pay to him the whoie of his proceeds of the Barth-Strickland fight in contravention of the agreement between Barth and the manager.
The Stadium management refuses to believe that last night's showing was Strickland's true form and intends to try to provide another fight for him.
Strickland, who today was naturally very upset at the abrupt ending of the fight, said he injured his head when he struck the apron round the ring. When he returned to the canvas he was completely dazed.
