Special forecast for. Wellington:—
Northerly winds becoming fresh. Weather fair to cloudy and mild. Further outlook: Windy on Thursday; increasing cloud.
The forecast for the Dominion as a whole issued at noon today for the ensuing 24 hours is for northerly wind.* predominating, force still light or moderate in most districts, but becoming fresh in and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. There Will be morning low cloud west of the main ranges, accompanied in places by a little light drizzle, otherwise the weather will be fair to fine with mild temperatures.
An anticyclone has remained almost stationary over New Zealand. Light to moderate easterly winds have- been experienced over the Auckland Peninsula, while elsewhere the winds have been mainly light or variable, with sea breezes in coastal districts. Fair to fine weather and mild temperatures have prevailed generally.
Fair to fine weather was experienced in the four centres yesterday, The maximum and minimum temperatures in Wellington were 69.4 degrees and 51.8 degrees respectively. There were 12.5 hours of sunshine.
