EXHIBITORS' CONFERENCE

The fifteenth annual conference of the New Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association was held in Wellington yesterday. Mr. J. H. Mason, vice-president of the association, presided over a large gathering of exhibitors, representing all parts of the Dominion, and a lengthy agenda covering a variety of matters affecting the welfare of the industry was dealt with.

During the afternoon session Mr. J. T. Paul, Director of Publicity, addressed the conference on matters concerning the national war effort, and those present offered recommendations which, it is believed, will further enhance the film propaganda scheme.

At a conference luncheon invited guests from allied interests and Government Departments included Mr. W. P. Stilwell, S.M., chairman of the Film Industry Board, and Mr. W. .Fife, secretary to the board, Mr. W. A. yon Keisenberg, film censor, Mr. W. Girling Butcher, Chief Inspector of Films, Mr. G. L. O'Halloran, Department of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Paul, Director of Publicity, Mr. Ralph Doyle, Australasian general manager of R.K.O. Pictures Pty., Ltd., Mr. David Lake, sales manager of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Mr. S. M. Craig, president, and other members of the Film Renters' Association.
