LOWER HUTT CARNIVAL

Tonight is kiddies' night at the jubilee carnival, Lower Hutt. Tomorrow afternoon and evening two performances of a very diversified nature will be given to mark the closing of this carnival, which was arranged to raise funds to erect club premises in the Hutt Valley for returned soldiers. This afternoon the band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, under the baton of Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill, will give one of its spirited performances, including an exhibition of slow and quick marching and in the evening the inter-house girls' demonstration will take place. The marching and evolutions under floodlit conditions should make a very inspiring and magnificent sight. The Petone Citizens' Band and Lower Hutt Civic Band will be in attendance.
