GALLOPS AT AWAPUNI

PALMERSTON N., This Day.

Gallops at Awapuni. yesterday' were carried out under ideal conditions, the plough being in good order, as was the course proper, where the flags were in the middle of the track.

Dainty Sue galloped seven furlongs on the course proper, being picked up by Colibri at the five. Dainty Sue began well, running the first half-mile in 53 3-ssec, and she Was going easily at the finish in lmin 34 3-ssec. , .

Last Acre was going better than Tau-Uru at the end of seven furlongs in lmin 35sec. the last three in 41sec.

Rose Acre and Waimutu sprin. J six furlongs, and, after running the first three in 38sec, they were easing up at the finish to complete in lmin 20£ sec.

Amorangi and Greek Step were gether'and going well alter three furlongs in 39 3-ssec, and March Easy was in front of Lady Gray at the end of half a mile in 55 2-ssec.

Among the horses restricted to strong pace work were Foxiana, Hunting Lore, Manteau, Clarion Call. Colonel Bogey, Old Surrey, Tolaga, and Corroboree.
