THE GREEK ANTHEM
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Recently there appeared in your columns a letter signed "Democrat." The correspondent advocated that in recognition of the valour and fortitude shown by our Greek ally, the Greek National Anthem should be played in main Wellington theatres after "God Save the King."
I wish to support his suggestion "wholeheartedly, as it is due mainly to the Greek resistance of Italian aggression that, the tide of the struggle in the Middle East has been turned. Another sound reason is that in a recent issue of, your paper there was a paragraph stating that the Greeks were to do their best in the teaching of English language and literature in Greece. This reason in itself should be enough to arouse the sense of unity between us and the Greek people,—l am, etc., (
