MACHINE TOOLS
PRODUCTION IN CANADA
OTTAWA, January 10.
The Defence Minister, Mr. MaoDonald, announced that machine tool production in Canada in 1940 was valued at 11,000,000 dollars, 800 per cent, above that of 1939.
A Government company had purchased or arranged for the purchase of tools to the value of 40,000,000 dollars for essential war industries since its inception in June, 1940.
