THE REV. B. HUTSON

The Rev. Benjamin Hutson, who was minister at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church from 1909 to> 1922, died at his home at Northcote, Auckland, on Wednesday, at the age of 86 years. He had spent 40 years in the ministry. Mr. Hutson was born in Sussex, and came out to New Zealand while quite a young man. He was trained in the Theological Hall of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand at Dunedin, being ordained at Waikato West in 1884. He served at Whangarei, Ravensbourne, Reefton, Stratford, Fordell, and finally at Brooklyn, where he took up his charge in 1909. In 1922 he retired from the ministry, but since then he . has occasionally performed relieving duties. While at Brooklyn Mr. Hutson did fine work among the young people, this being one of the features of his ministry.
