DEMOLITION WORK

CHURCHES TO BE LEFT

(Received January 4, noon.)

LONDON, January 3.

Except for some churches the wholft of the damaged buildings in the city area will probably be blown up in the rtext few weeks. Damaged buildings near churches will be demolished if the operations are unlikely to do further damage to the churches. The Royal Engineers today blew up damaged buildings in Falcon Street, while police and soldiers restrained the watching crowds.

It is now stated that during a recent air raid on Liverpool damage was done to St. George's Hall, the Adelphi Hotel, the Liverpool Parish Church, (St. Nicholas), and the retail fish market.
