NO MAJOR WORKS
ROSENEATH AND MOUNT
VICTORIA
In consequence of advice from the City Council that no major work can be undertaken at present, the executive of the Roseneath and Mount Victoi'ia Progressive Association has decided not to press its claims, and proposes to abandon its annual-meeting, though it doe? not fully concur with the council's view. -A number of improvements asked for last year have been carried out, states the committee's report, and hopes are held that footpath work will be done in Roseneath Terrace, Thane Road, and Palliser Road. The completion of the Palliser Road path is considered very necessary.
The improvement of the bus service and an extension to give access to upper Roseneath, via Hawker Street, was the subject of many requests to the City Council, but in view of the necessary expenditure for improvements in Roseneath Terrace, involving about £2000, and of restrictions in the use of oil fuel, it has been decided to defer the question of a new service and in the meantime to seek improvements of the existing service.
