WAIOURU CAMP

ORGANISATION OF STAFF

CLASSES OF MEN NEEDED

Particulars of groups of men required to staff Waiouru Camp, which will be occupied by Territorial units in a few weeks' time, have been made available by the Army authorities. The camp staff will number approximately 300 of all ranks. The camp has a 100----bed hospital, the staff of which will consist of two medical officers,-a matron, and 9 staff nurses. Hospital personnel still required includes 14 male nursing orderlies and 12 male orderlies for general duties. The dental hospital will be staffed by four officers and 11 other ranks.

A number of men are urgently required for Waiouru. They may be either men fit for overseas service or fit, only for home defence duties, but those in the first category will be liable for dispatch overseas. Those wanted include men for the messes, camp hospital, camp maintenance, power station, boiler rooms, quartermaster stores, camp records, and headquarters. . Their duties include those of . clerks, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, telephone orderlies, drivers, runners, and grooms. Men willing to take such posts are asked to communicate with the nearest defence office.
