CHESS

The annual tourney for the chess championship of the Wellington Work-, ing Men's Club and Literary Institute attracted 15 competitors. It was won by a new member Mr. T. Lepviikmann, with 12 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss (12£-1£). Good scores were also made by H. M. Rosenberg 10-2, J. L. Hardy 8-3, W; McClure 10J-3& (complete), F. K. Kelling 7£-3J, W. J. Fairburn 'B£-4&> L- Gneiss 7-6, and H. J. Fuller 6J-SJ. Mr. Lepviikmann now holds the Pressley Shield for the first time.
